Arts and Letters Programs

F.A.M.E. - Fine Arts & Music Extravaganza

The Stone Mountain-Lithonia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is sponsoring a competition targeted to Art/Art Education students. The competition is open to currently enrolled art students who are classified as freshman, sophomore or juniors. Participants are required to submit one (1) piece of artwork (painting, sculpture, etc.) created solely by the submitting artist (team art projects do not qualify). The artwork must be accompanied by an index card, no larger than 5 inches by 8 inches, and include the Title/Name of the piece and the name of the artist. The participants will have their submissions showcased during the Arts & Letters event entitled F.A.M.E. (Fine Arts & Music Extravaganza) scheduled for May 6, 2012, from 5:00PM-7:00PM at the Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church located at 4650 Flat Shoals Parkway, Decatur, GA 30334.

Book Signing

Join us for a live presentation and book signing of "Surviving and Thriving: 365 Facts in Black Economic History," the latest literary work by Dr. Julianne Malveaux, President of Bennett College and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

The event is Thursday, January 27, 6:30pm at the Community Achievement Center, 4522 Flat Shoals Parkway, Decatur, GA.

The cost of the book is $14.95 and will be available on-site for purchase. Members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. are asked to wear red business attire.
