The Stone Mountain-Lithonia Alumnae Chapter was awarded the prestigious
2006-Chapter Of The Year Award, and the distinguished Legacy of Achievement
Award in Educational Development, during 2006 Southern Region Sisterhood
Luncheon at the 48th National Convention of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Approximately 2,000 sorors, from chapters within the dynamic Southern Region
were on hand to witness the emotional event. Members of the Executive
Committee, Executive Board, and chapter cheered as SM-LAC's name was
announced!

Royce Love-Diagne, President, expressed immense joy at having her chapter's
work in the community and organization, publicly recognized. "Like many others,
our chapter sorors work tirelessly, day after day, to do an exemplary job of
implementing quality programs and projects in our service area. It feels good,
however, to have our efforts recognized before an audience filled with our sister
chapter sorors who also provide excellent service in their designated
communities."

Additional comments were made by past chapter presidents Beverly Harris, and
Marie Dunn. Specifically, Harris commented, "This honor is well deserved because
SM-LAC has been working hard in the community since its inception. I have no
doubt that it will continue to achieve even greater things in the years to come."
Marie Dunn said, "Wow! We have come a long way in less than ten years!
This award will motivate us to keep the momentum high as we prepare to
celebrate our Tenth Anniversary in March of 2007."

The 2006 Chapter Of The Year Award, along with the others that the chapter has
received, will be on public display during the Ten Year Anniversary Celebration that
will occur on Friday, March 2, 2007 (8:00 PM), at the Evergreen Conference Resort
in Stone Mountain, GA. Tickets are $60.00 per person, and the public is invited to
attend. Please contact Ms. Traci Geter for information on tickets via email to: financialsec@smlacdst.org

Our chapter successfully presented 38 Beautiful, Budding Roses to society on Sunday, March 30, 2008.  The presentation of the young ladies described as Radiant, Regal and Refined, occurred at the Gwinnett Center where more than 720 guests assembled for the elegant affair. To be certain, this cotillion will be remembered for years to come because it took place in spite of the March 14th tornado which threatened to derail the event altogether and the step show as well.  The LORD was merciful and shined his favor upon us.

Sorors, we must never forget to "THANK" Him for his Love and Mercy.

While recognizing specific individuals is always challenging, I nevertheless believe that flowers should be given while those we love and appreciate are living.

Therefore, please join me in extending Red Roses of Praise and African Violets of Admiration to the dedicated sorors of the
         Debutante Committee
and the Financial Projects Committee!

Soror Rachel Zeigler, Executive Chair and the members of the dedicated Debutante Committee for an excellent, "rose” studded evening of elegance.  Thanks to your efforts, the debs, their families and our chapter will enjoy these memories for years to come!
 • Soror Sabrina McCorvey, 2008 All Alumni Step Show Chair and step show committee members who were responsible for organizing and implementing another high quality, profitable step show on March 22, 2008!  Soror McCorvey provided exemplary leadership and management for our largest chapter fundraiser!
S
elect step show committee members to view the complete praise and admiration list.

        LOVE, PEACE, & BLESSINGS ALWAYS...

                                   EXCELLENT JOB SORORS!

Previous Red Roses Congratulations.
