Ghana Water Project - June 10, 2009

On June 10th, 2009 SM-LAC joined forces with our Sorors in the Marietta-Roswell Alumnae Chapter and traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to our ancestral homeland...Africa!  Specifically we visited the West African nation of Ghana where we paid tribute to our fore mothers and fore fathers, learning more about our heritage, shopping and dining in the bustling Capital City of Accra.  We dedicated a well providing clean drinking water for the village of Assissiriwa (located in Kumasi, the Ashanti Kingdom of Ghana).  We also provided desks and chairs for students at a newly constructed school because, although the government provides the building, it does not furnish the facility.
